Join us for our first weekly Monday night Yin class at Mettā!

This new format for our yin practice opens with significant breathwork/pranayama and mantra (15-20 minutes) and closes with a fifteen minute loving-kindness meditation.

The pranayama and mantra will help to put us in the proper energetic space in order to surrender into and receive teachings from the postures. Our loving-kindness meditation will help us to integrate the self-knowledge and surrender that we harnessed in our practice into our day-to-day lives more meaning and a greater feeling of expansion.

In Yin Yoga, we hold postures passively for 3 to 5 minutes while focusing on staying relaxed and present with the sensation in our bodies. By doing this, we begin to work into our connective tissue (joints, ligaments, fascia, and even our bones). It is also an opportunity to work through blockages in the prana/qi/subtle energy lines of our bodies. We utilize object meditation and visualizations to accomplish this.

Our practice is candle-lit and we have some props and cushions available; however, please bring anything that you think you might absolutely need to attain comfort in your practice along with you.

$10-20 suggested donation. Trade/work-study options are available. Just send us a message.
